Chapter 7:

Hidden in the hills of Turner Falls, there lay a secret cave with a waterfall that flowed into an underground river.

Kat had come to this place many times with Ike. As a matter of fact, they found it one summer when they went out looking for leaves for a project their moms' assigned them for science class.

"In here, you can leave the world outside," Ike had told her once.

Kat had told Ike that this place is like their friendship, always flowing and its the world's true gold.

Kat sat down and rested her head against one of the large boulders. Closing her eyes, she drifted off.

Ike thought hard about where Kat could have gone, and only one place seemed to come to mind.

Turner Falls.

Ike drove across town and parked the car up on top the hill, and walked toward the cave's opening.

When he entered the cave he noticed Kat laying next to the waters edge.

Not sure if he should say anything, he just stood there for a minute.

"Kat..Kat..Hey wake up." Ike quietly whispered to her.

Dreaming of what it would be like to be an angle, Kat heard the sweetest voice. She thought it was an angle's voice.

Ike touched her cheek. Beginning to realize she wasn't alone, Kat sat up.

"Oh my god, Ike you scared me!" Kat yelled at him.

"Sorry, I was worried about you. I called your house. Your parents said you left upset...And well, I knew you'd come here. So here I am." Ike said exhausted.

Chapter 8:

Taylor was sitting with Zac and his sisters trying to do his schoolwork, but he noticed that his mother seemed to have more than teaching on her mind today.

"Mom, is everything ok?" Taylor asked his mom.

"It's nothing sweetie, go back to your studies," Diana said in a preoccupied tone.

Taylor knew something was up, and he'd bet it had to do with Kat and Ike.

"Ike, remember when we were little and traveled to Aspen for that ski trip with our parents?" Kat asked Ike.

"Yeah that was the coolest trip! Remember building that snowman, and Taylor slid into it?" Ike laughed.

"He just didn't slide into it. He tripped over Zac and kinda fell into it!" Kat was laughing hard now.

"Man those were the best times," Ike said.

"It's been awhile since we've done a family trip like that. I wish we could do it again this Christmas." Kat said day dreaming.

Snapping back to reality, Kat asked,"What time is it anyway?"

"Wow! It's like 1:30 already," Ike stated.

"Can you give me a ride home? I have a doctors appointment at 3:00 today and my parents probably are worried." Kat asked.

"You bet, come on let's get you home." Ike grabbed Kat's hand and pulled her up.
