There were a lot of tours going on at The Harmon Science Center as Diana and the group walked in.
Ike and Zac walked over to check out the dinosaur exhibit but stopped when they heard "Oh you guys will never believe this" Taylor said waving for the group to follow him to the Laser Show.
"Hey way cool" Zac said taking a seat.
Welcome to the "Tulsa Rocks" laser show it said on the door.
"Wow listen to that," Kat said as a Hanson song played over the speakers.
The group sat through the show singing along with each song.
"I am totally Mmmbopped out now, how about you guys?" Ike asked.
"A Hanson laser show now that rocks!" Zac shouted.
"That was most excellent." Zac said.
"Well let's get some lunch and finish up with our tour" Diana said.
The cafe was packed with other school age children on a school tour.
"Geez, look at all these kids" Ike said stunned.
"Do you think it's safe for us to go in there" Tay asked.
"Let me go talk to the person in charge maybe they can let us sit in another room so we won't be bothered." Diana said.
Diana returned shortly with a look of accomplishment. "I slipped the guy a twenty he has a room for us," Diana said.
Ike, Taylor and Zac looked at one another in total shock. "Got Ya" Diana smiled.
"They knew we were here the director said they will be than happy to accommodate us" Diana said looking that her son's as they stood there with their mouths open wide.
"Do you know who this women is?" Tay asked.
"If I wasn't standing here I wouldn't believe it, our mother just made a joke" Ike said still in shock.
"Way to go mom, you're the man ah I mean woman" Zac said standing next to Diana sticking out his chest with pride.
Sarah had stayed home instead of going to the science center with the group. Though she would have rather of gone with she knew the doctor was more than likely going to call with Kat's test results.
Around lunchtime the phone rang.
Picking up the phone a lump rised up in her throat "Hello Sarah Martin speaking" she answered.
Sarah sat down in the kitchen chair as Dr. Alexander informed Sarah of the findings.
"Yes, we can be there tomorrow, 1 o'clock thank you Dr." Sarah said as she fought back the tears.
Sarah knew Kat would be home soon Sarah did not want to break the news to Kat alone.
Sarah picked up the phone "Hello Walker, does Jack happen to be there" Sarah asked.
"Yes, he just walked into his office let me transfer you" Walker said as he placed Sarah on hold.
Jack picked up the phone.
"Jack could you come home early tonight, the doctor just called and I think we should talk before we give Kat the news" Sarah said through her tears.
"I am on my way right now" Jack said as he hung up the phone.
"Walker I am taking off, the doctor called Sarah and we just received the test results and they do not look good" Jack said.
"Oh my god, Jack is there anything Diana or I can do?" Walker asked.
"We will call you later tonight to let you know all the details" Jack said as he walked out to his car.
Chapter 28:
Kat noticed her dad's car in the driveway when she returned home.
"Mom I’m home" Kat yelled as she walked in the door.
Kat looked in the kitchen but her parents we not in there.
"Hey where is everyone" Kat yelled once again.
"We are in here honey" Sarah said as she walked out of the family room.
"Your dad and I want to talk to you" Sarah said as she walked with Kat in family room.
Her dad was sitting on the sofa with a very sad look on his face.
"So what's up" Kat asked puzzled as to why her dad was home.
Than it clicked the doctor must have called to give them the results to her test.
"Ok you guys did the doctor call today?" Kat asked as she stood there in front of her parents shaking.
"Kat honey sit down" Jack said trying to comfort his daughter.
Kat was in her room when Ike called.
"My dad said the doctor called today, what did they say" Ike asked.
Kat told Ike what the results of the test were.
"Oh Kat I am so sorry, do you feel like some company" Ike asked.
As much as Kat wanted Ike to be with her she just didn't feel like be around anyone.
"Thanks but I think I need to be alone right now" Kat told Ike.
"Kat if you need me you know all you have to do is call" Ike said.
Kat said goodbye to Ike and cried into her pillow until she fell asleep.
