Chapter 21:
"I'll get it!" Ike said racing to the phone.
"Hello, Hanson residence," Ike said.
"Hello there Isaac," Sarah replied.
"May I speak to you mom?" Sarah asked.
"Is everything ok?" Ike wondered.
"Well, Kat had some problems at the mall, she is resting right now." Sarah answered.
Diana walked in to the kitchen. "Who is it honey?" she asked Ike.
"It's Mrs. Martin, she wanted to talk to you." he answered his mom.
Handing the phone to his mom Ike wondered what kind of problem Kat had.
Ike hung around waiting to question Diana to see if she knew.
"Oh my God, is she alright?" Diana asked.
"Ok Sarah we will see you tomorrow in church." Diana said goodbye and hung up the phone.
"What happened?" Ike questioned his mom.
"Kat had some vision loss while they were at the mall, Sarah said Kat was terrified." Diana told him.
"Oh God, is she ok, did she have to go to the hospital?" Ike asked feeling faint.
"No, Sarah said she is at home resting right now." Diana tried to reassure Ike.
The pain in Kat's head seemed to be getting worse.
Lifting her head, Kat tried to grab the bottle of aspirin and it fell on to the floor.
"Kat, are you ok in there?" Sarah called out.
Not hearing a response she rushed into Kat's room.
Kat was on the floor crying.
"Kat, honey what is it?" Sarah asked.
"I can't get the lid off this stupid bottle and I have one killer of a headache!" Kat said sobbing.
Taking the bottle from Kat Sarah hands her two of them with a glass of water.
"Kat, I can call the doctor if you want me to, to see if she can give you something stronger." Sarah asked Kat.
"I will take these but if they don't work, yes could you call her." Kat replied.
Sarah helped Kat back on to the bed.
"I'll check on you in a little while." Sarah told Kat.
Kat had drifted off to sleep already.
Chapter 22:
Ike decided to go over and see how Kat was feeling.
"Hey Tay, I am headed over to see how Kat is doing do you want to come along?" Ike asked.
"Uh I'd like to Ike but I have to answer these emails yeah a ton of them I really should get to them" Tay said feeling extremely guilty.
"Ok sure" Ike said with a look of anger on his face. How could he not want to go see her Ike thought?
Tay sank down in the Lazy E Boy he wanted to go with Ike; he wanted to go more than anything.
How can he tell his brother that just seeing Kat and knowing she could be dying makes him so afraid he can not face her?
Ike felt his pager go off.
Looking at the number he decided he better return the call.
"Hey Scott what's up" Ike asked.
"Yeah Chris gave my dad the list today, can you tell the guys next Tuesday we should meet and set a time to go over some things" Ike told Scott.
"Ok see you then," Ike said as he hung up.
Man it's almost dinnertime Ike said looking at the clock on the wall as he grabbed his car keys.
Kat sat up in her bed.
The aspirin helped the headache, but getting out of bed was another story.
"Man I feel like I haven't sleep in days" Kat said to herself as she reached for the glass of water sitting next to her bed.
Ike had come over sometime when Kat had been sleeping.
"Come in" Kat said as Ike knocked on her door.
"I thought I heard someone talking in here," Ike said with a smile.
Kat looked at him and said "Please don't ask me the How are you feeling question."
"Ok I won't I was going to say you can talk to yourself all you want just don't go answering yourself" Ike said with a laugh.
"Sit down fool." Kat offered a spot on her bed.
Ike grabbed a pillow and propped his head up next to Kat.
"So" Ike said.
"So" Kat said.
Than the both of them started laughing.
Ike took Kat's hand and she stopped laughing.
"How are you doing?" Ike asked in a serious voice.
"Well let's just say I pulled a Stevie Wonder at the mall" Kat said
"I heard, hey are you hungry?" Ike asked Kat.
"A little bit" "Why what do you have in mind?" Kat asked.
"Well you name it I will get it here in 30 minutes or less, we can have Taco Bell, Pizza, Sub's, you name it Kat" Ike said running down the list.
"Pizza sounds good, with everything on it" Kat said.
"Ok let me make the call" Ike replied.
